A&E Custom Manufacturing Technologies Installs 2nd Amada 4,000-watt Laser Cutting System to Create Twin Cell
A&E Custom Manufacturing Technologies, Kansas City, Kansas, has recently installed a second Amada Gemini 4,000-watt lasercutting system to form a twin automated 4,000-watt laser cell for “lights out” around-the-clock operation.
The company, which is IS09001:2000 certified, offers a wide range of manufacturing services including: metal stamping; tooling; metal fabrication; laser cutting; wire EDM; Mig & Tig welding; drilling/tapping; barcoding; assembly and packaging.
The new laser system can run on either oxygen or nitrogen, features a table 60″ x 120″ and can handle carbon steel up to 3/4″ thick, stainless up to 1/2″ thick and aluminum up to 1/4″ thick. The auto-loader/unloader enables unattended operation.
“This system increases our capacity and efficiency,” noted A&E’s Steve Hasty. “The upgraded software that comes with it features advanced nesting and re-nesting capabilities that will improve our material utilization.”
