Microsoft Trims Its MCS Workforce

Even though Microsoft was slated to hire 4,000 new employees in its current fiscal year, it ended up chopping approximately 160 from its Microsoft Consulting Services payroll this week, according to published reports. The company is citing “weak performance” of the consultants as the reason for the cuts. The Seattle Times reports: “Their jobs are being eliminated because the consulting business is restructuring and people with different skills are needed,” a company spokeswoman said.
