Microsoft Delivers Next Rev of its CRM System
Mary Jo Foley
Microsoft is now shipping MS CRM 1.2, the first update to its customer-relationship-management offering. (No, you didn’t miss 1.1; Microsoft just skipped that version number.) The new release is currently available in North America and due to ship worldwide by Q1 2004. Release 1.2 is a fairly minor one. It is designed primarily to add compatibility between MS CRM and the company’s Windows Server 2003, Office System 2003 and Small Business Server 2003. It also features improvements to set-up and an enhanced Outlook development environment, company officials have said. Customers waiting for MS CRM 2.0 will have to wait until Q3 2004, according to Microsoft’s latest SMB roadmap.
