Kia’s Picanto makes waves

NAZA KIA Sdn Bhd has launched the Kia Picanto 1.1 Mini multi- purpose

vehicle (MPV) in conjunction with the opening of its latest three Sales,

Service, Spare parts (3S) facility at Jalan Lahat, Ipoh.

`Featuring a blend of contemporary styling and a full range of features

at very competitive pricing, the Picanto Mini MPV is tailor-made to appeal

to the younger generation,’ said Group Managing Director Tan Sri S M

Nasimuddin S M Amin.

Drawing similarity from its larger sibling, the Carens MPV, the Picanto

features stylish and dynamic exterior design and characteristics, while

the interior focuses on functionality and ergonomics.

Nasimuddin added, `The responsive 1.1 liter engine provides 64 ps at

5,500 rpm and 96 kg.m of torque at 3,000 rpm, making it one of the most

powerful cars in its class. We have also incorporated driver’s side

airbag, power steering and power windows as standard features in this

vehicle.’

The Picanto will be competitively priced at RM46,000 on the road for

West Malaysia, and Naza Kia targets to sell 6,000 units of the model.

At the same event, Naza Kia’s 3S centre was also officially opened by Y

M Ahn, director of Overseas Sales Group II, Kia Motors Corporation. Naza

Kia will establish more 3S facilities in major market centres throughout

Malaysia, in its quest to attain a 10% share of the domestic market in

2004.
