A lot of gaul – Seen – motion picture premieres, Zoes Amelie, Iron Monkey – Brief Article

IT WAS A VERITABLE FAMILY REUNION AT the Los Angeles premiere of Miramax/Zoes Amelie at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Tobey Maguire, Ben Kingsley, Mira Sorvino, James Woods, and Cuba Gooding Jr. shared a laugh and a little theme cuisine following the quirky French comedy. There was more Miramax action at the U.S. premiere of Iron Monkey in Hollywood, after which the crowd fought its way into the Formosa Cafe for a post-pic bash. In Beverly Hills Kirstie Alley and other faithfuls opened the doors of Lillie’s Learning Place, a free tutoring program for children based on L. Ron Hubbard’s educational methods. Recruiting, er, learning was never so fun. –K.M.
