Latinos and gay marriage
With the presidential elections looming, in which Latinos will play a key role, gays are coming out of the linen closet with fresh sheets for their long-delayed honeymoon, as more state officials interpret marriage laws as inclusive, and where this happens–California, Massachusetts, New York–same-sex couples arm getting hitched. All this has raised a brouhaha.
Republican campaign adverts target socially conservative Hispanics. However, Mexico holds one of the world’s biggest gay marches and already one of its three main political parties, the PRD, supports same-sex marriages. In North America, Canada has already legalized gay marriages, but it’s anyone’s guess who will come in second.
