New Jersey: Committee advances sex assault package
The Assembly Judiciary Committee passed a package of bills designed to crack down on sexual assault.
One bill requires the state to prepare an annual report on sex crimes on college campuses. Another measure requires colleges to distribute and post copies of the “Campus Sexual Assault Victim’s Bill of Rights.”
Another bill establishes a $50 forensic laboratory fee for adults convicted of sexual assault. Juveniles would be charged $25.
