Michael Jordan, Master P, P. Diddy and Tiger Woods are the only Blacks to be named among the 40 wealthiest Americans under 40 by Fortune magazine.

Basketball icon Jordan ranked No. 13 on the list. At age 38, he is the richest Black person under 40 with an estimated fortune of $398 million. Jordan, who is currently president of basketball operations for the Washington Wizards NBA franchise, was also cited as the wealthiest sports figure on the planet today. In addition to his own cologne, Jordan has a division with Nike and holds endorsements with such companies as Gatorade, Hanes and Rayovac. Last year Jordan was No. 40 on the list.

Percy Miller, known to his legions of rap followers as Master P, is the richest Black entertainer under 40. At No. 20 on the list, the 32-year-old No Limit Enterprises CEO is worth an estimated $249 million. His No Limit conglomerate includes films, clothes, sports, toys and telecommunications Though not on the list last year, in 1999 Master P weighed in at No. 28.

Sean Combs, the rapper formerly known as Puffy and Puff Daddy who now uses the moniker P. Diddy, was ranked No. 22 on the list. The Bad Boy Entertainment CEO, at 31, is worth an estimated $231 million. In addition to music and movies, P. Diddy’s empire includes the Sean John clothing line and Justin’s restaurants.

Golf phenom Tiger Woods, at 25, is No. 40 on the list with estimated wealth of $160 million. Considered the greatest golfer ever, Tiger has already collected $25 million in prize money, more than any other golfer in history. He also has endorsement contracts with Nike and Titleist worth a reported total of $55 million.

Both P. Diddy and Tiger are new to the list.
