Kobe Bryant And Wife Buying $13.5 Million Home Near L.A – Brief Article
Fresh on the heels of winning his second NBA title, Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant and his bride Vanessa are in escrow to buy a home near Los Angeles for $13.5 million.
The Hot Property section of the Los Angeles Times newspaper reported that the Bryant home in a gated, Orange County community (just south of L.A.) is one of the highest amounts ever paid in that upscale area.
The home the couple is buying has a 16,000-square-foot main house plus a 2,000-square-foot guest/pool house on 9.5 acres.
The paper reported that the home comes with a half-scale replica of a pirate ship on a lagoon with waterfalls, slides and man-made caves. The property also reportedly includes a lake stocked with fish, bumper boats and a pavilion with countryside views.
The home has 10 bedroom suites, 13 1/2 baths, a theater, game room and billiard room. The master suite is reported to have a bridge walkway to tropical gardens.
Bryant is 22 and his wife is 19. She grew up in Huntington Beach, also in Orange County. The Times reported that the couple also is looking for a home in Philadelphia, where his parents have relocated.
Bryant is in the second year of a $70.8 million, six-year contract extension.
