Soul Singer Gladys Knight didn’t need much prodding from TV talk show host Les Brown to discuss her engagement on camera: After all, he is her fiance.
“I’m a private person and I’ve never had my personal life out in the public so much as it is now,” she said in a recent edition of “The Les Brown Show.”
“But, on the other side of that coin, I feel kind of proud that I had come together with a man who wanted to express to the world that he loved me,” she said.
The couple has postponed their wedding plans originally set for this month, citing hectic career schedules. So far, the only date set for the nuptials is 1994.
The show also included an interview with the singer’s brother, Bubba Knight, a member of her former singing group, the Pips, and reminiscences from friend who knew her during her early days in Atlanta.
