Former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Louis Sullivan has helped launch an organization to focus on increasing the number of Black doctors and nurses. He says that today Blacks account for only 6 percent of the physicians and 9 percent of the nurses in this country whose minorities compose 25 percent of the citizenry.
