Jupiter Telecom to Partner with WILLCOM in Mobile Business

Tokyo, Japan, Oct 28, 2005 – (JCNN) – Jupiter Telecommunications (J:COM) has reached a basic agreement with Willcom, whereby J:COM will market Willcom’s mobile handsets under the J:COM brand. J:COM will also launch new service J:COM Mobile in March 2006.

To be provided based on Willcom’s flat-rate plan, which enables free calls and emails between Willcom handsets for 2,900 yen ($25) per month, the new service will target J:COM’s current 2 million household subscribers in Sapporo, as well as in the Kanto, Kansai, and Kyushu regions.

Calls between Willcom and J:COM Mobile subscribers will be free. The service will support a newly-designed handset with the J:COM logo, which Willcom is introducing in November.

Through its Triple Play service offerings (video, high-speed Internet connection, and telephony), J:COM is now aiming to become a provider of four ultimate services, which also include mobile service.
