Impose sanctions on the United States
Karen Ann Gajewski
The World Trade Organization has granted the European Union and other nations permission to impose sanctions on the United States for exercising the Byrd Amendment, which fines firms that “dump” or sell their products below cost in the United States. Under the WTO ruling, the EU and other countries can penalize the United States up to 72 percent of the monies collected through enforcement of the amendment.
