SCAQMD Selects Air Products’ Hydrogen Fueling Systems

Lehigh Valley, PA-based Air Products recently announced that its hydrogen fueling technologies have been selected by California’s South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) for three demonstration hydrogen fueling stations to be built in Burbank, Riverside and Santa Ana next year. The company said it will join with Proton Energy Systems, Inc. (PES) on two of the fueling station projects.

Air Products said its Series 200 vehicle fueling system will provide the storage and dispensing of hydrogen to vehicles at the Burbank and Riverside stations. The company said hydrogen will be provided to the system from PES’ proton exchange membrane-based HOGEN 200 Electrolyzers, which will be powered by Burbank and Riverside’s city-owned utilities.

The company noted that SCAQMD has selected its HF-150 mobile hydrogen fueler for the Santa Ana station. The mobile hydrogen fueler unit will provide hydrogen for vehicle fueling from Air Products’ nearby hydrogen plant in Wilmington, CA.
