Women who had acupuncture before and after in vitro fertilization (IVF) may be more Likely to conceive, according to a study in Fertility and Sterility. Researchers found that 42.5 percent of women who had the needle treatment became pregnant, compared with 26.3 percent of other women undergoing IVF. The acupuncture was applied to “relax” the uterus, theoretically making it more receptive to an embryo.
