MasterCard, Amex Test RFID Credit Cards
MasterCard and
American Express have been testing RFID-embedded credit cards for more
than a year. MasterCard has been testing its PayPass system mainly in
Orlando, Fla. The company promises a nationwide rollout in 2004.
Security is an issue with these cards, because the RFID transmissions are
not encrypted.
