In the second quarter of 2001, according to revised estimates,
current-dollar, gross domestic product (GDP) rose 2.4 percent
(annual rate), real GDP (GDP in chained 1996 dollars) rose 0.3
percent, and the implicit price deflator rose 2.1 percent.

REAL GROSS PRIVATE DOMESTIC INVESTMENT
In the second quarter of 2001, according to revised estimates,
nonresidential fixed investment in chained (1996) dollars fell $53.0
billion (annual rate) and residential investment rose $5.4 billion.
There was a decrease of $38.3 billion in inventories following a
decrease of $27.1 billion in the first quarter.
