Sources of personal income – ending January 1996 – Total Output, Income, and Spending – Brief Article – Illustration
Personal income rose $7.5 billion (annual rate) in January, following an increase of $38.4 billion in December. The January increase was affected by a number of special factors, including cost-of-living adjustments to several Federal transfer payment programs and pay raises for Federal civilian and military employees. Adjustments for uninsured damages to residential and business property due to the severe winter storms in January will be incorporated into data to be released in April.
