Next-generation hybrid electric delivery vehicle stars at Labour conference
THE SECRETARIES OF State for Environment and Transport were given a conducted tour of the next generation of hybrid, electric and green fuelled vehicles during the Labour Party conference.
They met with Cam Deacon, chief executive of Azure Dynamics, the creator of the powertrain technology behind what is said to be the world’s first high-performance, 50mph, electric commercial vehicle–the eMercury.
The all-electric eMercury, which launched in Sheffield over the summer, offers a totally emission-free alternative for urban fleet managers, with a 100-mile range and top speed of 50mph.
Deacon commented on the conference: “It’s great that the UK Government is so supportive of the revolution in green transportation which we are developing with our UK partners. The support of the Ministry for Transport’s New Vehicle Technology Fund and the Energy Saving Trust has been instrumental in Azure’s work which will improve the air quality of Britain’s towns and cities.”
