LDV dealers secure lucrative orders – news

LDV MAIN DEALER Lex Commercials Hull has secured an order for 50 LDV Convoy new XLWB vans from Holloway Commercials in a deal worth over 1.8m [pounds sterling] at showroom prices.

The 3.85t vehicles are being converted into luxury 16-seater minibuses catering for the local authority and transport hire services markets. Additions to the luxury minibuses include the extra rear luggage compartment, imported tinted bonded glass and offside emergency door. The converted minibuses will also include LDV’s newly introduced four-year, 150,000 miles warranty.

In another order, LDV main dealer Lex Commercials Glasgow has supplied Argyll and Bute Council with 17 LDV Convoy 17-seater LPG minibuses worth over 500,000 [pounds sterling] at showroom prices.

The Council’s Education Service purchased the LPG minibuses to replace the ageing current fleet. Part of the 1.8m [pounds sterling] additional allocation from the Scottish Executive last year was used to fund the deal.

Of particular note is the livery used on the minibuses. School children were invited to design a logo for the buses in a colouring competition bearing the theme ‘Don’t pollute Argyll and Bute’. Around 1600 entries were received, and the 10 winning pupils’ designs were liveried onto the minibuses.
