Vermont suing over Canadian drugs
MONTPELIER, VT — Vermont plans to sue the Food and Drug Administration for denying its request to import prescription drugs from Canada. It will be the first state to take the FDA to court. Gov. James Douglas that the FDA’s reasons for rejecting the state’s request for permission “are unsubstantiated and we have no choice but to pursue any and all legal remedies available.” FDA says it is concerned with risks associated with reimportation of drugs from foreign countries.
