POPPA’S NEW PANTS. II. by John Ward. ISBN 0-8234-7155-9. New York: Holiday House, 1995. Unp. $15.95. A pair of plaid pants catches the eye of George’s grandfather while he shops one afternoon. The only problem is the pants are far too long for Poppa. The other adults — Grandma Tiny, Aunt Viney and Big Mama — all excuse themselves from the task of hemming the pants. In addition, that night George appears to see ghosts moving about and other strange sights, but all is resolved by morning. Ages 4-8.
