DESCRIPTION: Ninth Annual Peace and Social Justice Institute “Peacemaking and Peacebuilding in a time of Endless War,” will address the challenge of working toward world peace in a time of global conflict. Featured presenters are peace activist Elizabeth McAlister; Tom Cornell, Catholic Worker veteran; Michael Baxter, C.S.C. from the University of Notre Dame; political satirists and musicians Charlie King and Karen Brandow; Anne Curtis, RSM, of the National Catholic Social Justice Lobby, among others. DESCRIPTION: “Life After Elected Leadership: The Journey Continues” is a discernment process for women religious whose term in leadership is ending. During the last months in office, a woman becomes aware of the need to plan for the future. With the pressure of drawing her work to a close, she may find it difficult to take time for discernment about her future. The retreat provides time to gather spiritual and physical resources in an integrating dynamic of prayer, relaxation, honest search and learning.
