IJCAI Computers and Thought Award – AAAI News – Brief Article

The Computers and Thought Award is presented at IJCAI conferences to outstanding young scientists in artificial intelligence. The award was established with royalties received from the book Computers and Thought, edited by Edward Feigenbaum and Julian Feldman; it is currently supported by income from IJCAI funds. The winner of the 2003 IJCAI Computers and Thought Award is Tuomas Sandholm, Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA. Professor Sandholm is recognized for his contributions to computational economics and the theory and practice of negotiation and coalition formation among computationally bounded agents.
