Left my heart dot-com – On the Web – Hank Donat creates Web site in celebration of San Francisco, California – Brief Article

Hank Donat used to be an advertising executive–a job that required extensive travel. And every time he returned home to San Francisco, he found a piece of his beloved city was gone: an old restaurant here, a bar there. In a move both nostalgic and full of civic pride, Donat created the site MisterSF.com. It is a feast for lovers of the city but also an eloquent call for preservation of its landmarks, from drag bars to palaces. A gay man, Donat provides entries with his unique, witty take, which results in an engaging trip back into the city’s foggy past. No wonder Armistead Maupin was one of his first fans, telling Donat, “I got lost in your great site.”
