Las Ventanas al Paraiso, los cabos, Mexico – ShapeYourLife News

A stay at Las Ventanas al Paraiso (“The Windows to Paradise”), with its laid-back Mediterranean-Mexican vibe and expansive views of the Sea of Cortez, soothes the senses. For a close-up look at coral reefs and tropical sea life, ask the concierge to arrange a snorkeling (about $50 for three hours) or scuba-diving excursion (about $65 for three hours); or explore local coves and sea caves by kayak ($60 for three hours).
Not that you need to leave Las Ventanas to find fun in the water: Dive into the resort’s maze of infinity-edge pools and swim up to the bar for a margarita break. Then, dry off poolside while savoring a complimentary cup of lemongrass sorbet, or head to the beach for some R & R on a thatched palapa-shaded hammock.
Take your relaxation to the next level at The Spa at Las Ventanas, where choices range from ayurvedic body treatments to Balinese massages. Or go native with the Desert Clay Purification Ritual: Mineral-rich volcanic clay is slathered onto your skin to detoxify and nourish it, then, after the clay is showered off, an herbal-oil rubdown and sauna session follow ($100 for 50 minutes).
Sustenance can be found at the resort’s oceanfront Sea Grill, which features an antojitos (“little desires”) menu of miniature empanadas, taquitos and other Mexican favorites ($8-$12). Full-sized entrees are also available and may be sampled before ordering ($35-$39).
Just a 15-minute cab ride away, Cabo San Lucas at night lives up to its reputation as Cabo San “Loco.” At the hot spot EI Squid Roe, boogieing to the beat isn’t confined to the dance floor; patrons take to the tables. Or spend a more subdued evening stargazing through the telescope in your suite before getting cozy in front of the wood-burning fireplace.
From $575 per night, includes use of fitness center; spa treatments from $65 (888-525-0483, lasventanas.com)
