International Nurses’ Day

International Nurses’ Day was celebrated on 28th May 2002 at K.L.E. Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belgaum, Kernataka. The Guest of Honour was Dr. Stacie Gellar, Ph.D. in OBG from University of Illinois, U.S.A. She spoke on community Health Nursing practices in U.S.A. and scope of research in public health. Prof. Vijaya Naik M.D. in Preventive & Social Medicine from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum was the Chief guest. She spoke on the active role of ANMs and Anganwadi workers and the strong role nurses play in the community. Prof. Milka D. Madhale spoke on the importance of celebrating International Nurses’ Day Final year B.Sc. (N) students presented a symposium on the theme. The SNA Advisor, Mrs. Sudha A Raddi proposed the vote of thanks.
