Homeopathy and Mint Don’t Mix

Susanne Althoff

IF YOU’RE TAKING a homeopathic remedy, you may want to pass on mint-flavored dental products. Sharon Stevenson, executive director of the National Center for Homeopathy, says some homeopathic practitioners instruct their patients to avoid all mint while in treatment. “It will destroy the action of the remedy in some individuals,” she explains. Other substances thought to work against remedies are camphor and stimulants such as coffee.
