Nursing professor honored
At the recent Ribbon of Hope Awards dinner, Lauren Aaronson, PhD, RN, FAAN, was honored as one of the recipients of a 2001 Community Service Award. The Ribbon of Hope Awards dinner raises corporate and public awareness of HIV/ AIDS through volunteer recognition and find-raising for organizations serving the Kansas City AIDS Community.
Aaronson coordinates a Sunday evening meal program for the SAVE Home project, a task she started in May 1994. As a member of Congregation Beth Torah, she works with more than 75 volunteers to prepare, serve and enjoy Sunday dinner. Aaronson also provides each volunteer with nutrition guidelines specific to HIV/AIDS. She is a District 2 KSNA member.
