Greenville — Forrest “Whit” Whitman, former chair of the board of directors, has retired. He joined the board in 1973, serving for nearly 25 years until 1998. He succeeded John Richards as chair in 1975; John’s son David Richards became chair after Whitman’s tenure. A Greenville High School scholarship for students entering the healthcare field will be established in Whitman’s name.
Dr. Steven Pound was appointed to the board of directors, replacing Bill Folsom who retired last year. Pound is a former principal of Quebec High School and most recently was the executive director for the Associated Alumni at Acadia University in Nova Scotia. He is a board member of the Moosehead Development Council and the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council.
