MD&M East to highlight single-use disposables – Industry Trend or Event

Single-use disposable medical devices will be highlighted during the 17th annual Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East show scheduled for May 25-27 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Driven by the growing importance of single-use devices within the health care industry, a greatly expanded injection molding and plastic processing pavilion will include over 100 exhibitors displaying advances in resins, software mold making and injection molding equipment.

Trade show director Diane O’Connor says single-use devices represent a large and growing segment of the medical products marketplace, and as a result, command increasing attention within the manufacturing and marketing community.

Other pavilions will cover a range of areas within the medical device industry including packaging, labeling and bar coding, in-vitro diagnostic suppliers, medical electronics, CAD/CAM, and rapid prototyping.

Additionally, nearly 100 exhibitors from Europe and other parts of the world will be on hand to network international business opportunities.

Eight expanded pavilions and more than 700 OEM suppliers will make MD&M East the largest show of its kind ever presented. Again in 1999, the Atlantic Design Engineering show will co-locate with MD&M East, and attendees will be cross-badged for unlimited access to both events.

MD&M East and Atlantic Design Engineering are produced and managed by Canon Communications LLC. The company reported an attendance increase of 10% over the 1998 event at its MD&M West and Pacific Design Engineering show held January 26-26, 1999 in the Anaheim Convention Center, with nearly 11,000 attendees.
