Mallinckrodt Sensor Systems, Inc – contract awarded from the US Army for GEM Stat portable blood gas, electrolyte and hematocrit analyzers
Mallinckrodt Sensor Systems, Inc., Ann Arbor, Mich., was awarded a contract from the U.S. Army for 178 GEM Stat portable blood gas, electrolyte and hematocrit analyzers. The instruments are for use in the Army’s Deployable Medical System (DEPMEDS) and may be used by any branch of the military. DEPMEDS is a hospital equipment system capable of being located in a given area during a national emergency, contingency or war. GEM Stat was chosen from a field of five competing blood gas instruments. Mallinckrodt Sensor Systems is a subsidiary of St. Louis-based Mallinckrodt Medical, Inc.
The contract follows another recent order by the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs for 90 GEM Premier instruments for use with the VA’s TraVAlab portable cart program.
