Integral PET Associates LLC – Brief Article
Integral PET Associates LLC, New York, extended its long-term relationship with ADAC Laboratories, Milpitas, Calif., by placed an order for seven ADAC C-PET Plus position emission tomography scanners for delivery in 2001.
The scanners will be installed in Integra-owned PET scan facilities. Integral said it operates the largest network of fixed-site PET scanners in the country.
Ronald Lissak, Integral PET president and CEO, said the company chose ADAC equipment because it includes a fusion of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images with PET.
“(ADAC) offers faster whole body studies and utilize lower FDG doses, both of which are important to patient comfort and safety,” Lissak said.
Beyond the purchase of the equipment, said Integral, the companies will create a program designed to educate physicians and patients about the role PET can play in the diagnoses and treatment of disease.
The program will include print and audiovisual materials, and training instruction via Web casting and Internet distant learning methods.
