Benchmarking outlines cardiac delivery trends – reportpublished by AmeriNet Inc. and Health Care Visions Ltd – Brief Article

Device and med-surg suppliers hoping to take part in the equipment and product demands of the rapidly growing cardiovascular service delivery field should be aware of a benchmarking survey conducted by group purchasing organization AmeriNet Inc., St. Louis, and Health Care Visions Lt., a Pittsburgh-based consulting firm specializing in cardiac program development.

Titled Trends in Cardiovascular Programs: A National Benchmarking Study, the report provides information on current trends and best practice operating statistics within the market segment. Its statistical base was drawn from the nearly 100 hospitals from around the country–including 85 AmeriNet member hospitals–that responded to the survey.

“Results from the survey indicate that cardiovascular services account for up to 40% of revenue at those hospitals participating in the survey,” said Ron Miller, VP of AmeriNet.

The study included research in multiple areas of cardiovascular service delivery including organizational structure, medical staff composition, staffing and recruitment practices, information management and cardiovascular program management.

AmeriNet says that report provides insights beneficial to suppliers and providers alike into “issues of cost and quality, and the concerns, interests and needs of cardiovascular programs.”

Jackie Johnson, principal of Health Care Visions, said the report outlines “comprehensive information, first-hand experience about unique care delivery strategies and current management practices” needed for providers and suppliers to survive in the highly competitive market.

Copies of the survey are available for purchase by calling 800-837-5800.
