Golden touch

Golden touch

Two of the men who helped transform Gold’s Gym from a single sweat palace into an international fitness phenomenon have decided to throw their hats back into the health-club ring once again.

PAUL GRYMKOWSKI (brother of 1977 Mr. World PETE GRYMKOWSKI) and RICH MINZER have announced the launch of their latest venture, 365 Fitness, which they describe in their initial press release as “a new fitness concept.” Rather than going the more traditional route of opening a gym and running it for a few years in the hope that its success can support a second location, Paul and Rich have decided to jump into the deep end right away, using their impressive credentials as a buoy.

The 365 Fitness operation will license coed facilities of at least 8,000 square feet, furnishing them with top-of-the-line strength and cardio equipment and 30-minute express workout options, tailor-made for lunch-hour trainers.

The first gym to make the switch to 365 Fitness is, ironically, a 35,000-square-foot Gold’s Gym in Middletown, New Jersey, with the transition scheduled for completion by the time you read this. Scouting of a second location, to be opened in early 2006 in the Los Angeles area, is currently underway. For more information, go to
