Brooks changing of the guard commencing at 80 Osco stores – Retail News – Brooks Drug Inc – Brief Article

NASHUA, N.H. — The 80 former Osco stores Albertson’s sold to Brooks have begun to fly their new colors. The store at 331 Main Street here officially changed over in late January, according to a store associate. A sign in the parking lot clearly states that though the name has changed the faces remain the same.

The store, which is about three times larger than Brooks’ average 8,300-square-foot store, features a much broader mix of food and general merchandise than the typical Brooks assortment. On Feb. 18, the store still had Osco/Sav-on private label product on its shelves. The $240 million dollar deal announced in December marks Albertson’s complete exit from New England. The acquisition brings Brooks’ store count to 332.
