Powderject Pharmaceuticals – alliance
Powderject Pharmaceuticals (Oxford, United Kingdom) has signed a $15 million deal with Boehringer Mannheim GmbH (Mannheim, Germany) to develop its needleless injection system for the delivery of a novel therapeutic protein. The Powderject system works by using a helium gas jet to accelerate fine drug particles to supersonic speeds so that they pass painlessly through the skin. The gas jet is contained in a hand-held device.
