Exhibitors’ Advisory Committee, Nurses/Exhibitors Activities, Congress Incentive Program, Exhibitor Sponsorship Program
The 1999 exhibitors are committed to supporting opportunities for the professional development of perioperative nurses. The AORN Exhibitors’ Advisory Committee (EAC) administers and coordinates the Congress Incentive Program, Exhibitor Sponsorship Program, Nurses/Exhibitors Day, and the Michael D. Corley Memorial Scholarship. The EAC is composed of eight industry members and two AORN staff members. The Executive Director of AORN acts as liaison to the EAC. The EAC members can be identified by the brown ribbons attached to their name badges.
CONGRESS INCENTIVE AND EXHIBITOR SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMS
The EAC committed an $80,000 grant to the AORN Foundation to administer the Congress Incentive Program (CIP) and the Exhibitor Sponsorship Program (ESP). The CIP distributed $800 to 60 chapters and $350 to two members at large. This program helps chapters send members to Congress. To be eligible for this drawing, individuals had to register by Dec 14, 1998, and their membership had to be current. One entry was allowed per chapter for the drawing. A letter was mailed with the $800 check shortly after Dec 18, 1998, notifying the winning chapter presidents.
The ESP distributed funds to two student nurses, two international nurses, four AORN members, and two nonmember RNs. To be eligible for this program, the applicant had to be registered for Congress and had to mail a one-page typed essay by Dec 18, 1998. Winners will be notified by mail.
It is said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In fact, studies indicate breakfast is important to enhance learning, so start your learning experience at AORN exhibitor-sponsored breakfasts to be held from 6:30 to 7:45 AM Tuesday, March 30, through Thursday, April 1, in Rooms 105/106 located outside Exhibit Hall C.
The 1999 Exhibitors also are sponsoring
* the Jerry G. Peers Lectureship–“Making a Difference: Qualities That Make A Leader,” presented by Sheila Murray Bethel and
* a Tuesday education session–“Seven Traits of the New Synthesizer-Style Leader,” presented by Kare Anderson.
The EAC and the 1999 exhibiting companies look forward to seeing you in San Francisco.
