Oregon: liquor store agents want to sell beer and wine
A group of liquor store agents from Albany and elsewhere are petitioning the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) to allow liquor stores to sell beer and wine. The OLCC already allows two grocery stores in Portland and one in Bend to sell liquor using the commission’s “store within a store” program. The program is scheduled to last up to two years and ultimately involve six such pilot stores. The program could become permanent if it is successful.
Local liquor store agents say the program is already successful, and now it’s time to level the playing field and let liquor stores compete via sales of beer and wine.
