Controversial Napa winery approved

A Napa County Superior Court Judge upheld the County Board of Supervisors approval of a new winery to be built near Calistoga at the county’s northwestern border.

Neighbors in the quiet, rural area had fought construction of the Tom Eddy Winery because it has no vineyards. It will produce as much as 48,000 gallons per year, using grapes trucked in over narrow country roads.

Attorney and winery neighbor Robert Lichtman had opposed the project, calling it “an industrial complex.”
