Cohn honored as one of ‘100 Most Influential’ in tradeshows – Matthew Cohn – Brief Article
TREVOSE, Pa. – Tradeshow Week magazine named Matthew Cohn, President of The ASI Show, one of “The 100 Most Influential People in the Tradeshow Business.” The magazine’s July 28th issue summed up Matthew’s achievements this way: “Launched the promotional products show straight into the Tradeshow 200 [largest 200 shows in North America] when he was just 28. Within four years grew it to four locations of over 100,000 net square feet each.”
Cohn is also cited as one of the magazine’s “Young Guns.” He is one of only five young people in the tradeshow industry chosen for this group for their show’s success, innovation and forward thinking.
“I really see this distinction as a tribute to the industry more than a personal achievement. It’s an honor that our industry is viewed for leadership and innovation in the tradeshow business,” Cohn said. “The fact that The ASI Show was recognized for cutting-edge, innovative strategies is something for the industry to celebrate. If ASI members didn’t embrace what we were doing, the shows wouldn’t be as successful as they have become. We are fortunate to be in an industry where people appreciate and encourage innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and forward thinking.”
Always quick to note that the success of The ASI Show is a team effort, Cohn also noted special appreciation to a particular person. “Mary Upton, our VP of show operations is the person I have to thank for the success of our shows,” he said. “She’s been in the industry for 25 years and joined our organization when we decided to get into the tradeshow business. ASI is the information center and magazine of the industry and customers had asked us, ‘Where is ASI show?’ But we had no experience in running shows at that time. Mary’s the one that made it a reality for us and our members.”
