Sustane SAIB – Eastman product is an alternative to ester gum and BVO in beverages

Choose consistency.

Flavorless and effective, Sustane SAIB (sucrose acetate isobutyrate) is Eastman’s remarkable alternative to BVO and ester gum. A real answer to the needs of beverage formulators and drink specialists worldwide, Sustane SAIB is a flavor emulsion stabilizer, or a weighting agent, used in carbonated beverages, sport drinks, fruit punches, premixes, wine coolers, and malt beverages. And for good reasons.

Sustane SAIB has a three-year shelf life because it has been distilled and is stable to air oxidation and hydrolysis. With its proven safety record for more than 25 years, it has the highest use level of any weighting agent, 300 ppm in the United States and Europe.

With a high specific gravity, no off-flavor, and fast dissolution in fats, oils, and terpenes, it reinvigorates beverage formulation and manufacture. Plus equipment cleanup is easy. Sustane SAIB is available in three different formulations, including low viscosity blends pourable at room temperature.

No taste. Stable. Uncomplicated. And in demand. Sustane SAIB is truly the weighting agent of choice.

Sustane SAIB Food Grade, Kosher

Sustane SAIB (100% SAIB) food grade is a distilled high-purity product that is odorless and flavorless at levels used in beverages. It is a stable, viscous liquid used primarily in citrus beverages as a weighting agent or flavor emulsion stabilizer to prevent separation of essential citrus oils. Sustane SAIB is produced by the controlled esterification of natural sugar (sucrose) with acetic and isobutyric anhydrides and is provided as a kosher product.

Sustane SAIB CO Food Grade, Kosher

Sustane SAIB CO (90:10 by weight SAIB:citrus oil terpenes) food grade is a free-flowing liquid with a viscosity of about 3,000 cP at room temperature. It does not need to be heated and should be added directly to the flavoring oils. It is typically added to beverage emulsion at 10%-12%, and this emulsion is diluted to give a final concentration of less than 300 ppm Sustane SAIB CO in the finished beverage.

Sustane SAIB ET-10 Food Grade, Kosher

Sustane SAIB ET-10 (90:10 by weight SAIB:ethanol) food grade is a free-flowing liquid with a viscosity of 1,000 cP at room temperature. Sustane SAIB ET-10 does not need to be heated and should be added directly to the flavoring oils. It is typically added to beverage emulsion at 5%-l0%, and this emulsion is diluted to give a final concentration of less than 300 ppm Sustane SAIB ET-10 in the finished beverage.
