Innovation. inspiration. Inventors: CDI continues to add new pig tracking devices

From CDI’s (Control Devices, Incorporated) beginning in the early 1980’s, led by Tony Farque, until today, evolving technology continues to drive this family of inventors to higher standards of innovation for themselves and the pipeline industry.

Today, sons Jason and Eric Farque continue the tradition, by continually developing innovative pig detection products and services.

Some of the latest technology builds upon already successful product designs to more accurately track pigging devices for the pipeline industry.

CD42. CDI’s Flagship Product

The CD42 System is the world’s leading line of portable receivers for pig tracking and location. The CD42-R receiver is designed to both track and locate all types of pipeline pigs, including foam, uni-cast and metal bodied. This technology includes a simple, graphical menu system. The distinctive pulsing pattern of a passing pig is displayed on the easy-to see screen. Pig speeds can be calculated and stationary pigs can be located more quickly and accurately.

Introducing the CD 42STS (Subsea Tracking System)

CDI’s new CD 42STS is designed for economical tracking and locating of deepwater pipeline pigs. The CD 42STS can be used as a diver held unit or attached to an ROV. There are 2 characteristics that set this unit apart. First, this unit can withstand depths up to 8,000 ft. and secondly, no radioactive isotopes or hazardous service is required.

CD52 Bandit is Non-Intrusive

CDI’s Bandit makes pig detection incredibly easy. Just strap on the Bandit to the outside of pipelines from 6″ to 60″ and immediately start scanning for both transmitter and permanent magnet equipped pig passages. Dates and times of up to the past 10 passages will be stored in the Bandit’s memory. Since it’s non-intrusive, the CD52 Bandit can’t create corrosions problems or interrupt the flow of your system.

CDI’s products are designed for the long-haul, whether you need pig tracking and location instruments, or transmitters for the toughest environments, CDI has exactly what you need. When you rent or purchase equipment from CDI, you work with a company that’s in it … for the long run.
