Micros upgrades POS at Atlantic City’s Showboat
COLUMBIA, MD. — POS systems provider Micros recently completed an upgrade of the POS system at Harrah’s Entertainment Inc.’s Showboat Atlantic City, sources at the technology vendor said. The upgrade involved a move from Micros’ Unix-based 8700 hospitality management system to the company’s Windows NT-based 9700 Large Enterprise Solution.
According to Micros, with the installation of the new system, all of Showboat’s 32 revenue centers and 60 POS terminals will run on a single NT system.
Micros said if has developed custom POS applications for Harrah’s, including a custom cage application, a parking garage management system and an’ interface to allow Harrah’s Total Gold patrons to redeem complementary goods and services at any POS in any of Harrah’s 21 properties.
