Colgate-Palmolive donates $1M to APHA – American Public Health Association – Brief Article
WASHINGTON Acknowledging the importance of public health New York based Colgate-Palmolive Co. has donated $1 million to the American Public Health Association. The donation is intended to prepare the group for the challenges it faces heading into the 21st century. During a reception here attended by several dignitaries, including U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala. Colgate-Palmolive and APHA celebrated their new partnership to promote health and hygiene worldwide as well as a generous resource with which to begin tackling looming public health issues, such as increasing rates of chronic disease, racial and ethnic disparities in health status, and the emergence and re-emergence of many infectious diseases.
