BK adds 11-item 99-cent menu in biggest rollout – News – new products from Burger King Corp – Brief Article
MIAMI — Burger King Corp., after months of speculation, introduced as a permanent offering an 11-item BK Value Menu of 99-cent items, including six new products.
The No. 2 burger chain described the rollout as the largest new product launch in its history. The six new items on the 99-cent menu are a grilled sourdough burger, a bacon cheeseburger, chili, an oven-baked potato, two crispy tacos and a garden salad. The other five options are “value-sized” versions of existing menu items–a five-piece order of chicken tenders as well as onion rings, french fries, three flavors of ice-cream shakes and soft drinks. Burger King said many local markets would feature 99-cent desserts, such as two chocolate chip cookies, an apple pie, or a sundae pie.
The chain said it would air 15 new “Reality TV” commercials, starting Sept. 15, to support the new menu. Deutsch Inc. created the television ads, which feature the voice of actor-comedian Adam Carolla.
