The EZ rod system provides a guide so masons can consistently lay straight 3/8-inch vertical control joints. The bottom of the end is placed where the joint should begin. Once the masonry is laid up to the bottom of the holder, it can be removed and placed at a higher location. The metal rod holder attaches to any surface that can secure a screw, such as sheetrock or Styrofoam insulation. A plumb joint line is made by dropping a jack line or rod through the holder. The rod can be twisted free after finishing, which makes the system reusable.
