RZD and DB sign agreement
THE President of Russian Railways (RZD), Mr Vladimir Yakunin, and the CEO of German Rail (DB), Mr Hartmut Mehdorn, signed an agreement in St Petersburg to set up representative agencies of the two railways in Moscow and Berlin.
The agencies will be non-profit organisations. The aim is to promote railfreight and passenger traffic between the two countries.
They also want to prepare proposals on the development of international freight, and develop business relationships between the railways of Russia and Germany. The initial agreement will last for three years.
