Unilever to sell Iberia Food Corp – Brief Article – Statistical Data Included
Anglo-Dutch consumer goods giant Unilever has announced plans to sell its Iberia Foods Corp as part of its ongoing `path to growth’ strategy.
Iberia Foods Corp is a leading US-based firm, distributing food and consumer products to the Hispanic-American market.
Iberia Foods Corp has annual sales of over US$40m, and supplies over 3 000 outlets in the US, ranging from supermarkets, wholesalers, and Distributors.
Neil Beckerman, president and chief executive officer of Unilever Bestfoods North America said, “Iberia is well-positioned, both in terms of geography and focus, to take advantage of the continuing growth of the Hispanic-American market. However, as a distribution business it does not fit within our strategic plan.”
Unilever acquired Iberia Foods Corp following last year’s megs-merger with US food giant Bestfoods.
