Zito Sumi, a Slovenian confectionery firm which is celebrating its 12th anniversary this year has posted net profits of SLt90m (415 000 [European Dollar]) on net sales of SLt2.4bn for fiscal 2000. Net profit was 14% higher than in 1999, and sales were 56% higher.
Output at the Slovenian firm increased by 4%, with the company selling some 3 750 tonnes of sweets last year, along with 1 650t of chewing gum. Zito Sumi, which exports 80% of its produce, said it hopes to increase its sweets production capacity to 5 700t this year, helping it to achieve a target net profit of SLt120m for fiscal 2001.
